Sofía Margarita Vergara (born July 10, 1972) is a Colombian actress, comedian, television hostess and model. Vergara had been widely known for co-hosting two TV shows for Univision in the late 1990s. Her TV career opened up for her a window of exposure to North American audiences prior to her first notable acting job in English, the 2003 film Chasing Papi. Subsequently, she appeared in films, including two Tyler Perry films, Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009), receiving an ALMA Award nomination for the latter. Vergara’s success within television, has earned her roles in recent films, The Smurfs (2011), New Year’s Eve (2011), Happy Feet Two (2011) and The Three Stooges (2012).

“I hate to work out. I get in a bad mood when I have to do it! I’m not athletic. But I love dancing to Latin music, so I have a trainer who dances with me for an hour, three times a week. The truth is, you work out for health and you do look better. And I have a responsibility to the show. Nobody wants to see Gloria with a flat ass!”

She’s not too strict on her diet but does watch what she eats before big events. she says, “I have to control [what I eat] in my diet plan now especially when I’m getting ready for the Emmys. When I really want to be good and control myself, I have lollipops in my handbag — instead of having a tiramisu, I have a boring lollipop to stay true to my diet plan.” Also, Sofia does not eat red meat and sticks to an organic lifestyle.
Vergara said, “Since I was used to eating organic in my diet plan back in Colombia, when I moved to Miami, the meat didn’t taste good to me, anyway, so I stopped including it in my diet plan. I’ve been off it for 16 years.”









For her food choices, Sofia stick with whole foods like fruits, vegetables, and healthy clean carbs. Sofia doesn’t really have a specific food to eat for her diet but she always has the dessert problem. She does not feel finished eating until she had something sweet to eat.
