There are various health care tips, some help in weight loss while others help in disease prevention and help in toning of muscles. Routine preventive care exams can prevent disease and detect disease early. Obtaining regular preventive care exams and screenings is key to achieving and maintaining good health. Some common health care tips that are easy to follow for everyone and help in attaining healthy body are as follows:

  1. The first of the essential health care tips to keep hair beautiful in the winter is to avoid daily shampooing. Shampoos are known to wash away the scalps natural oils which are needed to keep it healthy and keep it from drying out. These natural oils also help keep hair looking shiny and healthy. Instead of shampooing daily, shampoo only once every other day, or less. There are dry shampoos that can be used in between regular washing times.
  2. Keep your home clean and do not allow stagnant water (source of breeding of mosquitoes, which are the main disease carriers during monsoons) to accumulate around the house.
  3. Consult a doctor if a fever lasts for more than two days, as it could be a symptom of malaria or typhoid.
  4. Drink plenty of water (purified) because high humidity levels tend to damage the skin.  It can also cause dehydration.
  5. Prefer Tea than Coffee.
  6. Drink 2 – 3 liters of water daily. Prefer distilled/RO water with added minerals. If not possible, drink boiled water. Never drink tap/bore water.
  7. Do not take your medicines/pills with ICE cold water or with alcoholic beverages or with tea/coffee. Do not lie down immediately after taking any pills (even at night).
  8. Make a habit of drinking 1 liter boiled/RO water (not cold or hot) in empty stomach at the early morning everyday. Neither drinks nor solid food of any sort should be taken within 1 hour before and after drinking water.
  9. Don’t take bath immediately after a meal. Also do not drink LOT of water immediately after a meal.
  10. Avoid excessive intake of Dairy products, Cakes, Ice-cream, Snacks, Soups, Sauces, Pickles, Spicy foods, Almonds, Potato, Beetroot, Radish, Peppers and other fatty meats like pork, beef or mutton.
  11. Prefer a Fish meal at least twice a week and avoid shellfishes. Also avoid Curd on the same day.
  12. Control your Salt and Sugar intake, unless you are a sports person.
  13. Never smoke immediately after a meal. Also avoid smoking at empty stomach and just before sleep. Better avoid smoking at all and excessive alcohol usage.
  14. Avoid living with a “Cat”. Prefer a “Snake” instead.
  15. Prefer left ear to answer the mobile than Right ear.
  16. Change your toothpaste brand once in a year and brush your teeth twice daily and floss your teeth frequently.
